Tompson’s Farm, Long Crendon (Bucks) will be open this coming Sunday (9 June) under the National Gardens Scheme. Described by the NGS as a ‘large woodland garden with mature trees and shrubs, lawns sweeping down to an ornamental lake’, this is a garden I began work in early this year, with Phase 1 of the renovation now complete. This has included new borders close to the house, extensive tree planting and sensitive clearance to enhance existing features and make the most of a stunning view. Three other Long Crendon gardens will be open at the same time.
